What we don’t do
The focus is on commercial finance leadership rather than specialist compliance or transactional finance. We can prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax returns where appropriate, but it is rarely the most effective or cost-efficient way for us to do so. We cannot provide specialist tax advice or conduct audits, so we work alongside your accountants, tax advisers and auditors where needed, making sure the right work is done by the right people, without creating unnecessary cost or complexity for the business.
About
Tom works directly with clients through Fizion, drawing on a trusted network of specialists when additional expertise or capacity is needed. Not just advice. Not just reporting. Tom can lead the finance function and do the work needed to make it better.
He is a Finance Director specialising in helping growing businesses scale and secure funding. Over the last decade, he has focused on smaller and growing businesses, from pre-revenue start-ups to companies with £5m+ turnover. Earlier in his career he worked in larger PE-backed multinationals, with turnover of £500m+, giving him experience across the finance disciplines and the challenges of much larger businesses.
He is a Chartered Management Accountant with a Maths degree from Cambridge and a proven senior leader. Before moving into finance, Tom spent four years as an Army officer, leading teams of up to 75 soldiers, including on operations in Afghanistan. He is equally comfortable leading a team, challenging senior leaders or getting into the detail and doing the work himself.
